Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an experienced A-Lineman to safely perform skilled electrical work on distribution and transmission systems, including underground and overhead lines. The role may involve supervising other workers and requires adapting to adverse weather and energized equipment conditions.

Applicants must have at least four years of related experience, a valid CDL-B license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Tools and readiness to travel are also expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of directly related experience.
• Valid CDL-B license required.
• Own tools required.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to work irregular hours and travel on short notice.
• Ability to communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
• Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove hazards.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Place insulating materials over conductors and joints.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair distribution systems and substations.
• Inspect and test power lines and equipment to locate problems.
• Splice or solder cables and install transmission lines.
• Travel to job sites by various transportation modes.
• Dig holes and set poles using cranes and power equipment.

Education

High School Graduate or GED

Lineman training school (preferred)
