Job summary

Pacific Rim International School in California is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to work with children ages 3 to 36 months in Nido or Infant Community. You will follow the Montessori philosophy and collaborate closely with other teachers.

Lead parent‑teacher conferences, communicate with administration about classroom duties and progress, and thrive in a multilingual setting using Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and English.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. The equivalent in training/experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have at least 6 ECE units and be continuing in courses.
• AMI Assistants to Infancy certification. (AMS certifications will also be considered).
• A deep understanding of Montessori education.
• Fluent in Spanish and can communicate in English.
• Enthusiasm in working in an international school setting and collaborating with young children.
• First Aid certified is a plus.
• Ability to work and communicate with colleagues.
• Simple computer skills or willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail, organization skills, and problem solving skills are desired.

About The Role

Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Physically able to work in an environment with low shelves and tables.
• Needs to be able to kneel, sit on the floor, sit in low chairs, etc.
• Must be able to work with multiple staff and children, under moderate stress levels.
