Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking general surgery coverage in the United States for locum tenens assignments. Providers should be comfortable with bread-and-butter general surgery and handling bariatric post-op scenarios in the ED.

Assignments include 7–14 days per month in 7-day blocks starting Thursday morning, with call coverage and travel/housing arranged. Board certification or eligibility is required, with paid malpractice and comprehensive support from Weatherby’s consultants.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in general surgery.
• Experience in general surgery across diverse cases.
• Comfort with bariatric post-op care in the ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide 7–14 days of coverage per month in 7-day blocks beginning Thursday AM.
• Evaluate, stabilize, and facilitate transfer for complex presentations.
• Manage bariatric post-op cases in the ED and coordinate with hospital teams.
