Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare seeks a locum tenens pathologist in Illinois to cover routine surgical pathology and cytology cases. You will manage grossing, frozens, peripheral smears, and blood bank duties, with no bone marrow or autopsy work. Typical hours are Mon-Fri, 8 am–4 pm, with vacation coverage available.

Compensation is competitive, with paid malpractice insurance and pre-paid travel and housing expenses, plus dedicated consultant support.

Responsibilities

• Handle approximately 3,000 surgical pathology cases per year.
• Process cytology cases including FNA; no Pap smears.
• Provide blood bank coverage and peripheral smear reviews.
• Perform large specimen grossing and frozens; no bone marrow procedures or autopsies.
• Vacation coverage and timely case entry in online portal.
