Job summary

Jiga is seeking a Senior Communications Lead to shape how we appear in aerospace and defense. You will own positioning, messaging, content, media relations, events, podcasts, and speaking engagements, writing and placing material with impact.

You will leverage 7+ years in defense tech communications, manage journalist relationships, and drive thought leadership for senior leaders across channels, with fully remote, async work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in communications, PR, or content in defense tech or aerospace, ideally close to manufacturing and hardware.
• Live media relationships and a track record of reporters/outlets pitched first.
• Knowledge of what resonates with supply chain leaders, program offices, and defense tech operators.
• Ability to write fast and well, with placed bylines or executive content.

Responsibilities

• Direct positioning and messaging for aerospace and defense audience.
• Create content yourself: articles, op-eds, industry insights, case studies, LinkedIn.
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, podcast hosts covering defense tech, aerospace, manufacturing.
• Secure news placements, speaking slots, podcast appearances, awards, conference presence.
• Lead senior leader thought leadership across social, podcasts, and traditional media.
• Improve discoverability of Jiga among US manufacturing capacity searches.
• Manage freelancers or agencies to maximize impact.
• Provide sales, BD, and fundraising with credible materials.
