ISD 318 - Grand Rapids & Bigfork is seeking a dedicated 9th grade boys basketball coach to work with the head coach in running the high school program and directing the 9th grade team.

The role focuses on skill development, strategies, and life-skills education, with daily practice plans and clear goals for student athletes to reach their potential; MSHSL certification is required via online modules.

Qualifications

• MSHSL certification via online modules.
• Experience coaching high school basketball or youth programs.
• Ability to teach basketball skills, strategies, and life-skills education.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coach the 9th grade boys basketball team under the head coach.
• Develop daily practice plans and set clear goals for player development.
• Teach fundamentals, game strategies, and sportsmanship to student-athletes.

Job description

The 9th grade boys basketball position is responsible for working with the head boys basketball coach in running the high school boys basketball program, as well as directing and coaching the 9th grade boys basketball team. This person is responsible for coaching student athletes in skill development, strategies, and techniques to prepare them for competition. The 9th grade coach sets daily practice plans and has clear goals/vision and objectives for student athletes to reach their potential. Teaching and learning is a priority, as we prepare the players for basketball and life skills. The position will require MSHSL certification by taking online modules on a variety of topics including the philosophy of school based sports.

Salary range: $4,319- $4,406

Coaches are eligible to attend home, non-playoff sporting events at no cost.
