Job summary

City of Tucson seeks Telecommunicator I to handle 3-1-1 non-emergency calls and emergency 9-1-1 calls, prioritizing safety and accuracy. You will coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses using CAD systems and mapping tools, with ongoing updates to responders and stakeholders.

Must have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of customer service, and bilingual Spanish/English abilities. Training and certification within six months are required, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Familiarity with Windows programs and typing at least 40 WPM.
• Spanish/English bilingual skills.
• Previous experience in a call center or public safety field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer 3-1-1 non-emergency calls, gather information, route requests.
• Answer emergency 9-1-1 calls with rapid triage and dispatch.
• Coordinate police, fire, and EMS resources using CAD and mapping tools.
• Maintain accurate incident records and communicate updates to responders.
