Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a California EMT to perform field and station duties in compliance with county protocols. You will inspect vehicles, operate ambulances safely, and ensure all licenses and certifications are maintained.

You will complete patient care reports, assist in patient transport, and participate in ongoing training to maintain BLS competencies. A valid CA EMT certification, CPR, and driver credentials are required, with legal work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check vehicles and equipment at the start of each shift; ensure stocked and in working order.
• Safely operate and drive company ambulances.
• Maintain licenses and certifications and stay current on BLS knowledge.
• Complete patient care reports, vehicle inspections, and required documentation.
• Safely transport patients and belongings; assist with loading and unloading on stairs with appropriate equipment.

Job description

The following are typical duties and responsibilities for the position of EMT. An EMT may perform some or all of these duties and may also be assigned duties and responsibilities not specifically listed below.Responsible for checking vehicles and equipment at the beginning of each shift and ensuring they are stocked, operational, and in proper working order.Responsible for the safe operation and driving of company vehicles.Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications.Responsible for maintaining knowledge and competency in the operation of all BLS equipment.Responsible for compassionate patient care and advocacy.Responsible for completing all required patient care reports, vehicle inspections, and other required documentation.Responsible for the safe transportation of patients and personnel, including patient belongings.Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of applicable County policies and protocols.Responsible for general station ambulance cleaning.Must be physically capable of carrying up to 100 lbs. and, with a partner, safely moving patients weighing up to 200 lbs. up and down stairs using backboards, flats, stair chairs, or other appropriate equipment.
