Job summary

Northeast Fire-Rescue (NEFR) is seeking EMTs to join our 911 EMS-focused team across Connecticut. You will work directly with municipal and volunteer Fire/EMS agencies, delivering advanced prehospital care on 911 calls and ensuring rapid patient assessment, treatment, and transport.

Qualifications

• Valid Connecticut EMT license.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current Connecticut Medical Control authorization, or ability to obtain required medical control.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of prehospital EMS.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 911 emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital emergency medical care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide advanced life support interventions per Connecticut protocols and medical direction.
• Administer medications and perform advanced procedures within EMT scope.
• Recognize and manage medical, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, traumatic, and other time-sensitive emergencies.
• Serve as the highest-level medical provider and clinical leader when appropriate.
• Safely transport and transfer patients to appropriate receiving facilities.
• Communicate with patients, families, Fire/EMS personnel, medical control, and receiving facilities.
• Complete accurate, timely electronic patient care reports.
• Maintain readiness of vehicles, equipment, medications, and supplies.
• Safely lift/move assist patients and equipment.
• Represent NEFR with professionalism, integrity, and respect.
