City of Shawnee is seeking a non-exempt 911 Dispatcher I/II to handle emergency communications and dispatch a variety of public safety units. The role operates base radios, processes 911 calls, and coordinates responses with police, fire, and medical teams.

This position is safety-sensitive under DOT regulations with drug and alcohol testing. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license and successful completion of Telecommunicator I and II training are required; work hours may include nights, weekends,

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED
• Maintain a clear background check
• Confidential handling of material
• Ability to multi-task and manage safety issues under time pressure
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Successfully completed Telecommunicator I and II training

Mansioni

• Operates base radio and maintains contact with mobile units to dispatch public safety assistance
• Cooperates with other law, fire and medical agencies as necessary
• Receives and dispatches telephone emergencies
• Monitors and transmits radio communications, broadcasts orders to law enforcement, fire and medical personnel
• Coordinates emergency requests
• Operates a teletypewriter updating NCIC entries and other information
• Maintains and validates NCIC filing system
• Maintains and operates computer aided dispatch system
• May be required to drive a city issued car
• Performs other duties as assigned
