Job description

Position Overview

Systems Engineer – Level 2 (Expert). Requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph. Salary up to $225,000 per year. Core hours 9am–4pm. Location: Herndon, VA.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience level: Expert (11–15 years’ experience).
• Developmental (0–2 years’ experience)
• Full Performance (3–5 years’ experience)
• Senior (6–10 years’ experience)
• SME (16+ years’ experience)

Experience & Responsibilities

• Integrate diverse data streams.
• Experience with data transfer tools (e.g., NiFi, Cribl).
• Establish data standards and act as custodian of IT and service delivery data sets and streams.
• Analyze complex networks and systems.
• Analyze log data from various network components and operating systems.
• Knowledge of complex environments involving shared networks and multiple security enclaves.
• Systems engineering with a network analysis/engineering background.
• Manage and troubleshoot data feeds; familiarity with Splunk and Python.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Security Development and Operations (SecDevOps).
• Expertise with Splunk.
• Scripting tools: Python, ShellScript, or Ansible.
• Cloud security controls and implementation.
• PKI implementation.
• STIG compliance and vulnerability management.
• Virtualization experience (VDI & VMWare).
• Public, private, and hybrid Cloud experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• AWS Certified Security Specialty.
