Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education required and teaching certification.
• Master's degree preferred for career growth and specialization.
• SC Certification for Middle Level Science is required or clearly eligible.
• Experience teaching middle school science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers middle school science curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Maintains a safe classroom and supports individualized instruction.
• Creates lesson plans and learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
• Assesses student learning and adapts methods for diverse needs.
• Instructs on citizenship and science concepts in accordance with laws and policies.
• Pursues ongoing professional development through seminars and research.
• Keeps accurate records of student progress, attendance and assessments.
• Communicates with parents about student progress and expectations.
• Collaborates with staff and participates in meetings and committees.
• Manages instructional materials and inventory; supervises students during activities.
