McDevitt Middle School in Waltham, MA is seeking a 7th Grade Science Long Term Substitute to cover 11/20/26–3/4/27. The successful candidate will deliver standards-based science instruction to middle school students and collaborate with staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and Massachusetts licensure for the appropriate grade and subject, with strong content knowledge and effective classroom management.

7th Grade Science Long Term Sub (11/20/26-3/4/27 Approx.)

The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can provide instruction to middle school students in Science.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Education for the grade(s) and subject(s) assigned.
  • Demonstrated subject matter competence, highly qualified, in the area of licensure.
Knowledge Required
  • Currency in the curriculum including knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.
  • Effective classroom management.
  • Effective instruction in a standards-based classroom.
  • Promotion of high standards and expectations for student proficiency.
  • Promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity.
  • Effective integration of technology across the curriculum.

Salary: As per the WEA contract.
