Job summary

Community Charter School of Cambridge is seeking a Long Term Substitute Middle School Mathematics Teacher for Fall 2027 to cover two sections of 7th grade math and serve as an advisor. The role supports preparation for college and standardized exams, including MCAS, within CCSC’s values of Belonging, Equity, Growth, and Achievement.

The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, align lessons with MA Frameworks and CCSS, and participate in ongoing professional development in a diverse school

Qualifications

• BA or BS required.
• Teaching experience in a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students.
• Work collaboratively to create and implement a program of study that is intellectually challenging.
• Work with a diverse student body from Cambridge, Boston, and surrounding cities.
• Promote a school-wide culture of respect using the principles of restorative justice and align curriculum with MA Frameworks and CCSS for Mathematical Practice.
• Design and implement lessons that balance procedural fluency with conceptual understanding and application.
• Serve as an Advisor to a small group of students.
• Engage with families regularly to support students’ learning and well-being.
• Participate in professional development as scheduled for all faculty.
