Job summary

The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a part-time Middle School Boys Basketball Assistant/7th Grade Coach to lead practices, coach games, and support the 7th grade program. The role emphasizes development, sportsmanship, and balanced growth for student-athletes in alignment with district expectations.

The position engages in game-day operations, supervision, and collaboration with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to promote academic achievement and athletic participation.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching/playing experience at youth to high school level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategy for middle school.
• Ability to mentor student-athletes in an educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices focusing on fundamentals and team play.
• Serve as primary coach for the 7th Grade team during games.
• Ensure safety and supervision during practices, games, and travel.
• Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote sportsmanship and conduct.
• Support academic success and well-being of student-athletes.
• Manage game-day operations and equipment.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and staff regarding schedules and policies.
• Ensure compliance with district policies and safety protocols.
• Uphold codes of conduct and team rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
