Job summary

MSAD #60 (North Berwick) is seeking a 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach for after‑school/Evening duties to develop fundamentals, team strategy and the competitive spirit of student‑athletes.

The candidate must have middle school coaching experience, Maine fingerprinting/CHRC approval, and NFHS certifications. Responsibilities include safeguarding players, managing the basketball program, coordinating travel and schedules, and maintaining communication with students and parents.

Qualifications

• NFHS certifications required for coaching at middle school level.
• Maine Department of Education fingerprinting and CHRC approval.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Experience coaching middle school basketball or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental basketball skills, strategy and physical training for individual and team development.
• Ensure a safe competitive and educational environment for all student-athletes.
• Lead the overall development of the basketball program as assigned by the Department of Athletics.
• Abide by Noble High School Athletic Department Coaches Handbook and Maine Principals Association rules.
• Communicate travel arrangements and schedules with Athletic Department staff.
• Distribute rosters, contest schedules and location descriptions to players and parents.
• Communicate with students and parents about injuries, attendance and academic status.
• Attend all Athletic Department meetings as assigned by the Athletic Director.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Athletic Department.

Job Description

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the students shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.

Ensure and provide the safest possible competitive & educational environment for all student-athletes involved.

Lead the overall development of the Basketball program as assigned by the Department of Athletics.

Qualifications:

Previous experience competing in and/or coaching Basketball at the Middle School level or higher

Maine Department of Education valid fingerprinting and CHRC approval.

Duties:

• Abide by the Noble High School Athletic Departments Coaches Handbook
• Abide by all Maine Principals Association rules and regulations
• Follow and implement all rules and policies within the school & athletic handbooks
• Equipment inventory & management
• May need to communicate travel arrangement & schedule with Athletic Department staff
• Implement school athletic Code of Conduct
• Make sure roster and students comply with Athletic Department guidelines
• Help in the distribution of team rosters, contest schedules and descriptions of contest locations to all players and parents
• Properly communicate with students and parents
• Monitor athlete attendance/behavior/academic status as communicated by the athletic department
• Communicate all student-athlete injuries to the Athletic Trainer and/or athletic office
• Attend all school Athletic Department meetings as assigned by the Athletic Director
• All others as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department
