Job summary

Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is seeking a full-time Catholic school teacher to support K3-8 education at our Milwaukee campus. You will foster a faith-centered learning environment, implement the school mission, and adhere to policy while using technology to enhance instruction.

You will report to the principal, lead daily prayer, teach assigned subjects, manage classroom dynamics, and collaborate with staff to develop curriculum.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current teaching license or be on a pathway to obtain one.
  • Ability to integrate Catholic values into daily instruction.
  • Commitment to K3-8 education and dual language program is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plans all-school liturgies as requested.
  • Plans instruction carefully and implements effectively.
  • Evaluates and grades students’ work.
  • Cooperates with the principal and staff in the planning and development of curriculum.
  • Performs duties as requested by the principal.
  • Incorporates technology to create a 21st century learning environment within the classroom.
  • Maintains grades and prepares grade reports.
  • Records daily attendance of students.
  • Completes all required forms and reports.
  • Attends all faculty and in-service meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Actively engages in professional development.
  • Participates and meets the requirements of Sustaining the Mission and maintains the appropriate level of certification.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school district and state.
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Ability to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities, with a willingness to put students first at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Organizational Overview

Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is a Catholic School founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Milwaukee, WI. The school was founded in 1996 as Notre Dame Middle School, an all girls 5th-8th grade middle school to serve Latinas on the southside of Milwaukee. Today Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is a Grade K3-8 Catholic school sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. It has a co-education primary school serving boys and girls in a Spanish and English dual language model. NDSM addresses the urgent, critical needs of the community through student-focused education. We currently serve over 690 students across three campuses and we have both an all-boys and all-girls middle school, a co-ed primary school, and an Early Childhood Education program. Position Overview: The Catholic school teacher respects Catholic values and aids students in Christian formation by exemplifying Catholic living, both in and out of the classroom. Because Catholic schools educate their students to promote the kingdom of God, it is important that all teachers are role models for students, exemplifying Catholic teachings and values in their lives and in their actions. The teacher is accountable to the school principal to provide education to the grades and/or subjects assigned, to implement the Notre Dame School mission and philosophy, to follow the policies of Notre Dame School, and adheres to the directives set by Notre Dame School administration.
