Medical Facilities Of America, Inc. is seeking a Charge Nurse to provide direct patient care under the direction of the nursing administration team.

Qualifications

  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Active, unencumbered RN or LPN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Ability to lead diverse team of individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to make independent decisions and work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government personnel, and the public.
  • Knowledge of current standards of nursing practice.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Excellent customer service focus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care, including interventions and re-evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Participates in the admission/discharge/transfer process.
  • Thoroughly documents clinical findings, assessments, and interventions.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments per patient’s plan of care.
  • Notifies patients/families/responsible parties of changes in patient status.
  • Communicates patient status to Unit Manager and interdisciplinary team as necessary.
  • Reviews and investigates patient, family, and staff concerns; takes action to resolve and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensures compliance with company policy and regulations.
  • Collaborates with medical staff and departments to coordinate care.
  • Supervises delivery of care by nursing assistants.
  • Identifies training needs and communicates to Unit Manager/Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Participates in training/precepting of new staff.
  • Attends training, in-service education, and staff meetings.
  • Attends patient/family meetings including care plans as necessary.
  • Performs other duties for successful operation of the healthcare center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides direct patient care, including interventions and re-evaluation of patient outcomes.

PREREQUISITES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
