Job summary

Family Service Association in Fall River, MA is seeking a part-time 7D Van Driver for Kids Academy & Afterschool Day programs. Hours are Monday–Friday, approx. 1:30pm–4:30pm, with a $500 sign-on bonus.

The driver will transport children, follow safety rules, and maintain vehicles while ensuring the safety of all participants.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Professional driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport children according to safety rules and MADOT regulations.
• Ensure all safety equipment is secured and stocked.
• Follow Vehicle Maintenance Protocols and report service needs.
• Keep bus interior and exterior clean and free of hazards.
• Clean up after illnesses using body fluid clean up kits in the vehicle.
• Ensure children are safely seated with seat belts at all times.
• Monitors orderly entry/exit and assists children on/off the bus.
• Transport along a designated route within the EEC time frame.
• Complete a Daily Pre- and Post-Trip Inspection Form.
• Submit weekly trip reports with mileage and gas receipts.

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate part time (15 hours plus) 7D Van Driver for our Kids Academy & Afterschool Day programs in Fall River, MA. The hours are Monday - Friday from approximately 1:30pm - 4:30pm. No weekends and no major holidays.

Job Summary

The ideal 7D Van Driver is comfortable transporting a wide age range to cover the differentprogram participants. This includes car seats, wheelchairs, etc. as needed to and from the program sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport children according to established safety rules and road regulations, set by MADOT while observing all rules of the road.
• Ensure all required safety equipment is secured and properly stocked.
• Follow the Vehicle Maintenance Protocols and inform either the Assistant Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Coordinator of all service needs.
• Keep exterior clean and interior of bus clean and free of potentially hazardous and sharp materials.
• In the event of sickness/ bodily accidents, clean up impacted areas using the body fluid clean up kits located in the vehicle.
• Ensure that all children are safely seated and have secured seas/seatbelts at all times.
• Monitors orderly entering and exiting of the bus, including helping children on and off bus safely.
• Transports children on a designated route within the time frame identified by the EEC.
• Complete a Daily Pre and Post Trip Inspection Form.
• Submit weekly trip reports consisting of mileage and gas receipts.
• Maintain a daily transportation log (route sheet) that includes drop off/ pick up times and participant attendance.

Education and Experience

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Professional driving experience preferred.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid class D driver’s license for 3 continuous years
• Must be 21+ years old
• A 7D license is required for this position.
• Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certified.
• Must possess an ability to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.

***Candidates must pass CORI, EEC BRC (fingerprinting), CPS (child protective services) background checks.***
