Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a qualified athletic coach/supervisor in Hancock County to teach the fundamentals of the sport and instill good sportsmanship in participants. The role requires adherence to WVSSAC rules and district policies and collaboration with the head coach and athletic staff.

The ideal candidate will hold WV teaching credentials or a substitute permit, CPR/AED certification, and complete WVSSAC training if not a professional teacher.

Qualifications

• Valid WV teaching certificate/licensing, or WVDE substitute permit, or high school diploma or GED.
• Must hold a valid CPR/AED certification.
• Coaches that are not professional teachers are required to complete the WVSSAC Training and Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Organizes practice and game plans in coordination with coaching staff.
• Adheres to WVSSAC policies and league rules.
• Demonstrates good sportsmanship and positive conduct.
• Supervises participants and manages safety.
• Performs duties assigned by the principal, athletic director, or designee.

Education

JOB SUMMARY: The person employed for this position must be able to teach the fundamentalsofthesportandinstillgoodsportsmanshipbehaviorsintheparticipants. Additionally, adherence to WVSSAC rules and regulations as well as school and district policies is required.
