Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a part-time, hourly 6th Grade Womens Soccer coach for Clague Middle School. This role reports to the Athletic Director and requires fostering student-athlete development, team safety, and sportsmanship within a supportive coaching staff.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, coaching experience, and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Coaching experience is preferred, with knowledge of the sport rules and techniques.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard Certification when applicable, as required.

• Complies with Macomb/board policies.
• Maintains communication with Athletic Director.
• Develops positive self-image with athletics.
• Attends clinics/workshops related to sport.
• Uses sound teaching methods to develop skills/techniques.
• Demonstrates loyalty and support for coaches.
• Demonstrates positive sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
• Manages pre-contest details effectively.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

NON-CONTRACTUAL (HOURLY) STAFF HIRED WILL BECOME AN EMPLOYEE OF PCMI (THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR).
CURRENT CONTRACT STAFF WILL REMAIN ON PAYROLL WITH AAPS.
POSITION TITLE: 6th Grade Womens Soccer
POSITION LOCATION: Clague Middle School
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of high school coaching experience preferred
• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport.
• Ability to obtain current CPR / First Aid/ Lifeguard Certification when applicable.
• Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff parents and school staff
• Minimum of 2 years coaching preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Add, subtract, and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds.
