Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a 6th Grade Co-Ed Volleyball Coach for Clague Middle School. The role involves instructing and guiding student-athletes, coordinating with coaching staff and parents, and upholding school and league policies.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, coaching experience, and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification if needed. This is an on-site, hourly position working with middle school students during sports seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of high school coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport.
• Ability to obtain current CPR / First Aid/ Lifeguard Certification when applicable.
• Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff parents and school staff.
• Minimum of 2 years coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with M.H.S.A.A. policies and department / district policies.
• Maintains consistent communication with Athletic Director
• Develop positive self image with athletics
• Attends clinics / workshops related to sport.
• Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.
• Demonstrate public support / loyalty for coaches.
• Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
• Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
