Location: CICS Lloyd Bond - 13300 S Langley Ave, Chicago, IL 60827

Reports To: Principal

Salary Range: Starting at $58,682, commensurate with experience

Employee Type: Regular Full Time

Start Date: August 2025

Position Overview

Distinctive teachers cultivate a love for learning in every student through strong relationships, high expectations, and a belief that all students can achieve great things in school and beyond. Teachers focus on engaging instruction, using grade-level standards and the core curriculum, with ongoing assessments to inform instruction. Teachers build classroom communities with routines and management practices that maximize learning time and maintain effective communication with students and families.

Preparation, Instruction and Assessment (90%)

  • Implement the DS Model
  • Provide grade-appropriate assignments with frequent checks for understanding
  • Deliver engaging, cognitively demanding instruction
  • Design lessons aligned to standards using core instructional tools
  • Support personalized learning and maintain instructional materials
  • Use assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Participate in coaching, professional development, and team activities

Classroom Culture (10%)

  • Create an organized, welcoming environment
  • Manage routines and build strong relationships
  • Communicate effectively with families
  • Use restorative justice approaches for discipline
  • Collaborate to support student growth

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Educator License or equivalent, or proof of enrollment in a certification program within 30 days
  • Content Area Endorsement
  • Technology proficiency with cloud-based software (Google Suite) and data analysis

Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, and fine finger dexterity, with the job comprising approximately 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing.
