The School Social Worker provides direct and indirect counseling services to students and their families or legal guardians. They support students' social-emotional and educational development as outlined in their IEP, collaborating with families, outside agencies, and school staff. The role is vital to the school team.
Master’s Degree in a mental health or human services field from an accredited college (counseling, social work, psychology). Current state licensure (PEL) such as ISBE Type 73, LCSW, LSW, LPC, or LCPC. 1-2 years of experience in behavioral health, including individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, with a focus on children and adolescents preferred.
