Job summary

Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking a 6th–8th grade Science teacher to design lessons, deliver instruction, and adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs. Qualifications

• Valid State of Illinois Teacher Educator License Required.
• Grade 6th–8th Science Endorsement Required.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Teaches Science and/or other assigned subject areas to pupils in a classroom utilizing concepts and pedagogy adopted by the Board and other appropriate learning activities.
• Collaborates with other 6th grade teachers, including the Special Education Teacher.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school program.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of State Standards, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
• Other duties as assigned by administration.
