Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction to meet each student’s needs.
- Use multiple approaches to instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Engage in active, hands‑on creative and innovative approaches to help students improve their skills.
- Identify and build on student strengths.
- Support and follow all district programming in academic, behavioral, and emotional support areas.
- Facilitate ongoing assessments to determine instructional starting points, monitor needs, and evaluate progress.
- Evaluate, grade, and assess student work.
- Maintain class records and report grades and progress at term end.
- Provide instruction to students with varying capabilities, emphasizing SEL support.
- Assist students in developing responsible behaviors and a positive work ethic.
- Implement effective instruction reflective of the Ohio Department of Education standards.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, nurses, mental health specialists, and counselors to ensure a safe, student‑centered environment.
- Engage in collaborative planning with colleagues to support school and district programs.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers to address student/classroom issues.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, exemplifying responsible leadership as a model for students.
- Manage all situations positively and professionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Offer
Contracted employee: 183 days per year, 7.25 hours per day.
Starting salary in accordance with negotiated agreements, with increases for experience and education.
