Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a classroom teacher for a 200-day contract. The position follows the NCBOE salary schedule and includes a competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

The role requires a valid WV teaching certificate for the specified grade levels and compliance with state education codes. The teacher will develop lessons aligned to WV standards, use technology in instruction, and collaborate with staff under the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels per WV Code §18A-3-2.
• Multi Subject K-8 or Elementary Education K-6.
• Criminal background check per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill WV Content Standards and Objectives and show written evidence of preparation.
• Uses 21st century technology skills to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Delivers rigorous instruction to all students.
• Prepares lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Presents subject matter according to WVDE guidelines and board policies.
• Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
