Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a 6th/7th grade Math Teacher for IDEA A.W. Brown College Prep in Texas. The role focuses on delivering rigorous math instruction, using data-driven planning, and aligning with IDEA standards to prepare students for college readiness.

The position emphasizes lesson planning, progress tracking, family communication, and active participation in school events and after-school duties. A Bachelor’s degree and K-12 teaching experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Deliver math content and grade-level curriculum for 6th/7th grade, track progress.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Use formal and informal assessments to track progress and adjust lesson plans weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
