Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking skilled welders in La Crosse, WI to join our assembly and fabrication teams. You will perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and other metals, following drawings, specifications, and welding codes. Training to ASME processes and 6G level may be required.

Wage starts at $26.42/hour with shift premiums of $5.00 on second shift and $7.50 on third shift; experienced welders can earn up to $40/hour. The role involves on-site work with heavy equipment and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Certificate or degree in welding from a certified technical college.
• Alternatively, 12 months of professional welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret welding codes and work instructions.
• Proficient with MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and other metals.

Responsibilities

• Must train and pass ASME processes for MIG and TIG, both AC and DC, to 6G level for AC.
• The 6G and DC processes are performed infrequently.
• Must weld to x-ray quality and pass x-ray/dye penetrant checks when required.
• Assembles and welds headers and sub-assemblies of varying sizes.
• May weld with other processes and metals as warranted.
• Works from drawings and specifications.
• Identify material and markings to ensure proper parts and IDs.
• Check parts prior to assembly to ensure tolerances.
• Rework parts to meet drawings and tolerances.
• Ensure weld quality and proper identification of welds.
