Job summary

A Nanny Match is looking for a warm, energetic nanny to care for an 8-month-old boy on the Upper West Side of New York City. The role offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week with a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Start date is as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

The family seeks someone engaging, proactive, and child-centered who can support early development through play, reading, music, and routine. CPR/First Aid and vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent, relevant full-time nanny experience with infants and toddlers.
• 2-3 excellent references.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before starting.
• Up-to-date vaccinations including MMR, Tdap, COVID-19, and flu.
• Strong reliability, communication, and judgment.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Warm, patient, playful, and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing, attentive care for the child.
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, play, and development.
• Prepare bottles, clean and sterilize equipment.
• Change diapers and maintain the child’s daily hygiene needs.
• Support the baby’s daily routines, including feedings, walks, naps, and play.
• Read, sing, and support language, sensory, and social development.
• Encourage creativity, independence, and imaginative play.
• Prepare meals and snacks for the child.
• Manage the child’s laundry and organize his clothing.
• Take child to classes in the neighborhood.
• Keep the child’s room, play areas, and child-related spaces clean, tidy, and organized.
• Maintain open communication and work collaboratively with the parents.
