Position Overview

Loving parents in NYC are seeking an experienced, nurturing nanny for their infant daughter. Their home is calm and respectful, and they are looking to build a positive, collaborative relationship with their nanny.

Safety is the family’s highest priority. They are looking for someone who confidently handles the practical aspects of infant care while remaining attentive to their baby’s cues and receptive to the parents’ preferences.

The mother works from home in a separate space, and the father occasionally works remotely. This is a long-term opportunity for a nanny with strong infant care experience, sound judgment, and a warm, engaging approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the child’s care, safety, and well-being
  • Prepare bottles and feedings, and clean and sterilize bottles and equipment
  • Manage diaper changes and support healthy hygiene habits
  • Manage the baby’s daily routines, including feedings, naps, tummy time, and play
  • Foster healthy development through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Read, sing, and encourage language, sensory, and social development throughout the day
  • Eventually prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child
  • Manage the child’s laundry and put away her clothes
  • Keep the child’s room, play areas, and spaces used during her care clean, tidy, and organized
  • Provide regular communication and work collaboratively with the parents
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent, relevant full-time nanny experience with infants
  • Current infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before starting
  • Up-to-date vaccinations, including MMR, Tdap, COVID-19, and current-season flu
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, communication, and judgment
  • Comfortable collaborating with parents who work from home
  • Able to safely lift and carry an infant, participate in floor play, and carry a lightweight stroller up and down several entrance steps
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willing to avoid perfumes, colognes, and strongly scented personal care products at work due to household sensitivities.
  • Comfortable providing screen-free care.

A background in early childhood education is valued but not required. Fluency in Mandarin, Russian, or French is a particular plus. Italian, Korean, German, Irish, or Japanese language skills are also welcome.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal nanny is calm, warm, and good-humored, with a strong foundation in infant care. They are gentle, playful, responsive to the baby’s cues, and fully present during the workday.

The parents value honesty, straightforward communication, and a comfortable rapport. Someone who brings competence, kindness, and an easygoing manner while respecting the family’s routines, diverse backgrounds, and traditions will thrive in this role.
