Job summary

Leech Lake Gaming is seeking a Security Officer responsible for the safety of personnel, guests, facilities and all related property. Duties include patrols, incident reporting, money handling oversight, and assisting in emergencies.

Strong communication, confidentiality, and CPR certification are required; tribal licensing and background checks apply. This role operates within a 24/7 environment and offers a dynamic, security-focused team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year related experience.
• Must meet Tribal/State licensing requirements, pass background check and drug testing.
• Must have or be willing to acquire CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Protect property against theft, vandalism, fire and illegal entry using procedures set by Security Manager.
• Patrol buildings and grounds on a periodic schedule.
• Report mechanical failure to appropriate personnel.
• Provide escorted transportation for guests as needed to ensure safety.
• Coordinate secure escort of money transferred to and from vault room.
• Witness and assist in money counting procedures with Head Cashier and others.
• Access vault room, alarm systems, and restricted areas to protect monies.
• Document and report information to Security Manager; testify in court if needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and maintain confidentiality at all times.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the safety and security of personnel, Guests, building facility, grounds and all other property belonging to the property or its guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Protect property against theft, vandalism, fire and illegal entry using proper procedures as determined by Security Manager.
• Patrols buildings and grounds on a periodic schedule
• Reports mechanical failure to appropriate personnel.
• Watches for and reports all irregularities occurring during shift
• Prepares documentation concerning each incident to appropriate personnel on a daily basis
• Provides escort, by request, of guests to their transportation to ensure safety
• Coordinates the secure escort of all monies transferred to and from the vault room
• Witnesses and assist in money counting procedures with Head Cashier, Bookkeeper, and other designated personnel.
• Has access to vault room, safe, alarm systems, and limited access areas to ensure protection of monies.
• Documents and reports all pertinent information to the Security Manager.
• Testifies in court and other related official hearings as deemed necessary by proper officials
• Reports and assists in all medical emergency situations.
• Adheres to and uphold the Security Policy & Procedures as established by the Security Manager
• Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
• Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
• Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
• Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
• Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: Six months to one year related experience

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing. Must have or be willing to acquire CPR Certifications
