Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Crane Operator to work on a hammer mill expansion north of Indianapolis, IN. You will operate a 60-ton Grove hydraulic crane, set up equipment and steel, and support a plant shutdown during the run.

This W2 contract offers per diem, travel/mileage pay, and long shifts. CCO certification with a large hydraulic endorsement is required, along with experience on similar cranes and availability for late August 2026 start.

Qualifications

• CCO certification with large hydraulic endorsement, current and unexpired.
• Experience operating 60-ton Grove hydraulic truck or rough terrain crane.
• Available to start week of 08.31.2026 and commit to full run, including shutdown.

Responsibilities

• Run a 60-ton Grove safely and within load chart as the sole crane on the expansion.
• Set up for each lift – configuration, counterweight, outrigger position, radius.
• Set equipment and structural steel for a new hammer mill building.
• Support the plant shutdown beginning 09.21.2026 with heavy crane use.
• Perform and document daily crane inspections.
• Coordinate lifts with the site superintendent and rigging crew.
• Work 50-hour weeks outside the shutdown window and finish the full run.
