Job summary

Teaching Lab seeks a 6-8 Math Facilitator/Coach in New York, NY to design and deliver high-quality professional learning for math educators. This project-based contractor role involves on-site work with weekly travel to New York, NY and opportunities for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Deep experience coaching educators in grades 6-8 math.
• Experience with Illustrative Math, Amplify Desmos Math, Eureka Math, or enVision Math curricula.
• At least two years as an instructional coach with evidence of impact on student learning outcomes.
• Experience supporting diverse classroom instruction levels.
• Strong background in instructional best practices and applying strategies to support diverse educators and students.
• Experience designing professional development materials or serving as an instructional designer.
• Experience facilitating impactful professional learning and coaching in both virtual and in-person settings.
• Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders in education.
• Experience empowering teachers through trusting relationships and supporting shifts in practice and mindset to improve student learning.

Overview

Teaching Lab is a nonprofit organization focused on improving teacher professional learning. This role supports the design and delivery of high-quality professional learning and instructional coaching for 6-8 math educators, with emphasis on implementing standards-aligned practice and curricula. This is a project-based contractor role with flexible hours and travel to New York, NY as required.

• Provide tailored 1:1 coaching and group learning experiences for educators, in-person and virtual
• Build collaborative, trusting relationships with educators and leaders to strengthen instructional capacity and improve student outcomes
• Support data collection, reporting, and reflection to measure the effectiveness and impact of coaching and professional learning initiatives

Essential Qualifications

• Deep experience coaching educators in grades 6-8 math
• Experience teaching or coaching Illustrative Math, Amplify Desmos Math, Eureka Math, and/or enVision Math curricula
• At least two (2) years of experience as an instructional coach with evidence of impact on student learning outcomes
• Experience supporting various levels of instruction across classroom settings
