Job summary

Global Educational Excellence (GEE) is seeking a 6-12 ESL Teacher for Riverside Academy West in Dearborn, MI to design and deliver language acquisition support for students whose first language is not English. The ELL Teacher uses evidence-based strategies to advance academic language proficiency and content access, providing direct instruction, co-teaching, and pull-in/pull-out support.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, Michigan teaching certificate with ESL/ELL or Bilingual

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an ESL/ELL or Bilingual endorsement (NZ, NE, or equivalent) as defined by the Michigan State Board of Education.
CAP eligibility may be determined at the time of application for enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP).
Satisfactory criminal background check

Responsibilities

Assess student language proficiency using WIDA screener and ACCESS assessments; maintain progress records for all ELL students.
Provide direct instruction, co-teaching, and push-in/pull-out language support aligned with WIDA standards.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate content-area instruction for English learners.
Identify and enroll students with Limited English Proficiency; maintain ELL program records per MDE requirements.
Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and community resources.
Participate in Child Study Team meetings and professional development
