Qualifications

• Certification/License: State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
• State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related discipline
• Master's degree preferred or in progress

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum aligned with district goals
• Promotes a safe classroom environment for individualized and small group instruction
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to maximize instruction time
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and adapts instruction as needed
• Instructs students in citizenship and district policies
• Pursues ongoing professional development through seminars and research
• Maintains accurate records of grading and attendance per district procedures
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates progress to families
• Ensures student conduct aligns with school standards and policies
• Coordinates with elementary staff and participates in faculty meetings
• Assists in selecting books and instructional supplies and maintains inventories
• Supervises students during activities outside the classroom
• Administers standardized tests per district programs
