Job summary

TrulyHired in Rhode Island is seeking a 5th Grade Teacher for a one-year assignment in a district setting. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess standards-based instruction for 5th graders, aligning with MTSS frameworks and district curriculum.

The role emphasizes fostering a safe, inclusive classroom, differentiating instruction for ELLs and students with IEPs, collaborating with grade-level teams, and maintaining strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years successful experience in teaching preferred.
• Strong understanding of elementary curriculum frameworks, child development, and upper-elementary/middle-grades pedagogy.
• Excellent interpersonal, classroom management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction tailored to the academic and developmental needs of 5th-grade students.
• Provide instruction on pre-approved curriculum in the content area.
• Integrates soft-skill instruction into competency-based content area activities.
• Utilize diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to measure student progress, guide instructional decisions, and personalize learning as part of the MTSS framework
• Embed literacy, mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry, and social studies concepts across the curriculum.
• Collaborate with other core content teachers and interventionists on common course planning,
• Utilize educational technology tools to enhance student engagement and maintain accurate records.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive classroom environment grounded in mutual respect.
• Implement positive behavioral support strategies aligned with school-wide policies and anti-bullying guidelines.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, including ELLs, IEPs, and/or 504 plans.
• Participate actively in grade-level team meetings, MTSS, PLCs, and School Improvement Team initiatives.
• Adheres to RI Department of Education Educator Evaluation process.
• Maintain regular, transparent, and proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding progress.

• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, including English Language Learners (ELLs), students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and/or 504 plans.
• Participate actively in grade-level team meetings, MTSS, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and School Improvement Team initiatives.
• Adheres to the requirements and standards of the Rhode Island Department of Education Educator Evaluation process.
• Maintain regular, transparent, and proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding academic progress and behavioral growth.
