Job summary

Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) in Dorchester seeks a Special Education Teacher dedicated to student success. You will build strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and support learners with mild intellectual impairments through individualized accommodations and collaboration with related service providers.

You will implement inclusive practices, align with Common Core and MCAS Alternate Assessments, and contribute to a warm, rigorous school culture focused on SEL

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Passing MTEL: Communications & Literacy MTEL and MTEL in the taught content area within first year.
• SEI Endorsement within first year of employment.
• Moderate/Severe Disabilities MA license required.
• Familiarity with WIDA frameworks preferred.
• Knowledge of Common Core and MCAS Alternate Assessments.
• Two years teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to anti-racist, culturally responsive and restorative practices.
• Warm Demanding ethos: high expectations with care.
• Ability to start ASAP.
