Job summary

Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) in Dorchester, MA seeks a 5th Grade Special Education Teacher for SY26/27 to support students with mild intellectual impairments in both separate and general education settings. Requirements include a Bachelor's (Master's preferred), MTEL scores, SEI endorsement within the first year, and MA Moderate/Severe Disabilities license.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree is preferred).
• A passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL, as well as a MTEL in the content area(s) they teach within their first year of employment at NHCS
• An SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) as defined by DESE, within their first year of employment at NHCS
• Candidate must possess a Moderate and/or Severe Disabilities MA teaching license
• Familiarity with WIDA frameworks preferred;
• Knowledge of experience with, The Common Core Curriculum and MCAS Alternate Assessments;
• Two years teaching experience preferred;
