Job summary

Poudre School District in Colorado is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for 5th grade at Cache La Poudre Elementary School, covering a leave of absence from early September through December. The position is 100% time for a 188-day work calendar; the substitute must hold a valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization and will follow district and state standards.

Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
Criminal background check required for hire.
Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students' assignments and assessments.
Create a classroom environment which maximizes instructional opportunity and manages behavior.
Design assessment tasks and use data to modify instruction.
Monitor student growth, communicate progress with parents/guardians and staff.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student outcomes.
Attend meetings and participate in professional growth opportunities.
