Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for general repairs and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs within level of ability and training.
• Responsible for monitoring, operating and maintaining all mechanical equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining physical building including structural and cosmetic
• Keeps the mechanical rooms, electrical and other work areas clean.
• Provides proper safety and security to company assets, including personnel.
• Assists personnel with carpentry, plumbing, welding, masonry, boiler, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Understands and follows all applicable Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures.
• Adheres to all rules and regulations pertaining to the mechanical maintenance department.
• Maintains daily log, maintenance forms, and requested reports for management.
• Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
• Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
• Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
• Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
• Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous mechanical maintenance experience helpful.
• Must have the ability and desire to learn new skills in the areas of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and LP gas systems, welding, Swimming Pool & Spa Operations Excellent time management.
• Organizational, public relations and communication skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally.
• Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged standing and walking is required.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.
• Subject to external working conditions including extreme weather conditions.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: High School Graduate or General Educate Degree (GED)

Experience: Six months related experience

Computer Skills: Must have basic computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
