Substitute teachers may choose which schools they are interested in serving; however, assignment opportunities are not guaranteed. School administrators consider their individual staffing needs and may determine whether a substitute teacher is selected to work at their school. Substitute teachers serve on an as-needed basis and may be removed from the substitute list or released from assignments at any time, with or without cause, at the discretion of the District.

Background Screening

The total cost for fingerprinting is $73.06. Employment for this position is contingent upon successful completion of background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. ALICE Training

To remain eligible to substitute teach, all individuals responsible for student safety, including Substitute Teachers, are required to complete initial Active Assailant Protocol training upon hire and maintain annual ALICE Training recertification in accordance with Florida Statutes.
