Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools seeks a 504 Assistant to support general education teachers by supervising students with disabilities and helping prepare instructional materials and activities. The role may coordinate special projects and assist with RTI strategies and behavioral support.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living routines, supervising students in various school settings, maintaining records, and responding to parent inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or related field required.
• Four years’ relevant experience if no bachelor’s degree.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist general education teachers in supervising students with disabilities.
• Prepare instructional materials and classrooms for activities.
• Supervise students during arrival, testing, lunch, field trips and more.
• Record attendance, administer tests and maintain student records.
• Coordinate special programs and respond to parent inquiries.
• Assist with daily living skills and health-related activities.
