504 Compliance Coordinator (Part - Time) (FY27) JobID: 318

Section 504 Compliance Coordinator – Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend all monthly Section 504 meetings and participate in Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) training related to Tier III Section 504 students.
  • Monitor building-level compliance with Section 504 policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic audits of student records, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance with Section 504 regulations and district expectations.
  • Ensure annual reviews, reevaluations, and required Section 504 meetings are conducted within established timelines.
  • Enter and maintain all approved Section 504 accommodations in Sylogist accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor disciplinary actions involving students with Section 504 Plans and determine when a Manifestation Determination Review (MDR) is required.
  • Facilitate Manifestation Determination Reviews and ensure all required notices, documentation, procedures, and records are completed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain documentation related to disciplinary removals and ensure compliance with Section 504 disciplinary protections and procedural safeguards.
  • Track cumulative disciplinary removals and identify patterns of exclusion that may require additional review or procedural action.
  • Provide guidance and support to administrators regarding disciplinary procedures involving students with Section 504 Plans.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the secure handling of sensitive student information.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Provide training, technical assistance, and ongoing support to staff regarding Section 504 requirements and best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of district procedures, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) guidance, and federal and state updates related to Section 504 compliance.
  • Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other stakeholders to support the effective implementation of Section 504 services and accommodations.
