HOPEWELL STAFFING is sourcing candidates for a LABORATORY TECHNICIAN in the AUSTIN, TX area. The contractor will perform simple laboratory procedures under the supervision of an ASCP registered medical technologist.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of full-time phlebotomy work preferred, a valid Texas driver’s license, and compliance with HHSC immunization, drug testing, fingerprinting, and training requirements.

HOPEWELL STAFFING is sourcing candidates for a LABORATORY TECHNICIAN in the AUSTIN, TX area.

Contractor shall provide the following service(s) to consumers of the Facility:

Laboratory technician performs various simple laboratory procedures, under the supervision of an ASCP registered medical technologist.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
• One-year of full-time phlebotomy work preferred
• Possess valid Texas driver’s license
• Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
• Must submit to HHSC required drug test
• Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
• Must complete facility and HHSC required training

Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Process and package specimens for transport to reference lab.
• Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, TSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.

Requested Schedule:

• 7am-1pm

  Candidate must be available for 2 non-consecutive days of training, Day 1 and 6, from 8-5. Additional training would be able to be accomplished during normal work schedule.

• Laboratory technician will typically work 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Mon-Fri), but shift pattern is subject to change as determined by the Lab supervisor to meet needs of the hospital.
• No holiday, after-hour or weekend shifts
