Job summary

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries in Anaheim is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to independently set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills. You will work on 3-axis and 5-axis milling jobs, handling precision components, tooling, fixtures, and secondary machining on formed sheet metal parts and weldments.

The role requires 6+ years of CNC setup experience, strong GD&T and G-code editing skills, and the ability to work on the stated second-shift schedule.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of CNC setup and machining in precision environments.
• Independent 5-axis CNC mill setup experience with 3-axis mill work.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• Proficiency in G-code editing and precision measurement.
• Ability to work independently and meet quality and production targets.
• Willingness to support the stated second‑shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Set up tooling, fixtures, datums, and part alignment.
• Verify first article, run production, ensure safe operation.
• Edit G-code at the machine and resolve issues with programmers.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
• Build or modify fixtures and setup tooling as needed.
• Troubleshoot dimensional, surface finish, and offset issues.
• Collaborate to improve setup time, cycle time, and consistency.
