Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer (Mill/5‑axis) to join our Manufacturing team in Boulder County. You will develop and optimize 5‑axis machining programs, primarily using hyperMILL, while interfacing with engineering and operations to improve processes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CAM experience, proficiency with NX/ESPRIT/Mastercam, and a proven ability to adapt quickly to new software.

Qualifications

5+ years CNC programming using CAM packages (hyperMILL, NX, Mastercam, ESPRIT, etc.).
4+ years hands‑on programming and machining 5-axis mills and/or 5-axis mill‑turns.
Experience on manual and CNC mills and/or lathes.
Rapidly pick up new CAM software and manage large tool libraries.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot 5-axis CNC machining programs primarily using hyperMILL.
Work with various CAD/CAM software and learn new software rapidly.
Produce hardware on machines and OEM software including Siemens controllers.
Familiarity with handling digital tool libraries and tool magazines to boost throughput.
Suggest design changes to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
Program billets with minimal fixturing and create on‑the‑fly fixture tooling as needed.
Keep production moving and alert management to bottlenecks; contribute process improvements.
Operate machines with automation such as pallet pools, bar feeders, and expanded magazines.
