Government Investigations and White‑Collar Defense Practice Group at Nixon Peabody seeks an Associate to join the Providence, RI office. The role involves advising clients, conducting investigations, and defending against government investigations and related civil fraud litigation.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients regarding litigation in federal and state government investigations, criminal and civil enforcement actions, and related civil fraud disputes.
• Investigate and analyze evidence obtained from subpoenas, requests for information, grand jury proceedings, or investigative agencies.
• Represent clients in grand jury, trial, appellate, and collateral proceedings on behalf of government investigations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and opposing arguments.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple practice areas to deliver comprehensive representation.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of post‑bar experience in government investigations, civil enforcement litigation, or complex civil fraud litigation.
• Completed a clerkship or equivalent proof of legal experience.
• Strong writing and analytical skills with demonstrated written advocacy experience.
• Excellent judgment, communication, and client‑service orientation.
• Advanced academic credentials with a record of scholarship and professional achievement.

Salary & Benefits

Providence, RI salary range: $145,000 to $180,000. The range reflects expected annual base salary. Additional contingent compensation may be earned based on performance, location, experience, and qualifications. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package.
