is seeking a full-time Warehouse Operator to supervise daily warehouse activities in Mount Olive, NC, and to perform hands-on forklift operations as a crew chief. You will assist the Warehouse Supervisor, verify stock transfers, coordinate routing based on product storage needs, and support distribution center operations to ensure accurate order fulfillment and safe, efficient handling.

Qualifications

Duties And Responsibilities

Assists Warehouse Supervisor With Daily Duties Such As

• (Duties are performed in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisor as directed and when supervisor is is out)
• Confirms production shop order verification prior to DC morning operations.
• Reviews production schedule and determines truck / warehouse routing plan based on product storage requirements and DC inventory needs; Monitors truck and stock movement throughout the day and adjusts logistics plan based stock needs.
• Communicates / emails production routing sheet to 2nd shift DC supervisory personnel which enables 2nd shift to begin their operations.
• Directs Warehouse team in daily operations and job tasks.

Assists Distribution Center employees when needed.

Verifies picking stock to fill orders using BPCS.

Records and verifies transfers of stock into the Distribution Center.

Opens warehouses daily as needed. Secures warehouse on weekends as needed.

OTHER DUTIES (As Directed By The Warehouse Supervisor)

• Operates a forklift to unload and load trucks as needed. Assists Truck Unloaders in storing product in correct locations.
• Operates a forklift to pull sample orders to deliver to Quality Control.
• Verifies code date information for Quality Control.
• Inventory - assists in taking physical inventory at all warehouses. Records count and UPC of finished goods.
• Assist customers with pickle sales at Distribution Center.
• Stretch-wrap machine - maintains stretch-wrap machine. Directs Forklift Operators to stretch-wrap pallet load.
• Assists in double checking orders.
• Rotates stock as needed.
• Helps clean Warehouse as needed.
• Stoops and bends in some job tasks. Ability to read and write required. Basic math skills required (adding, subtracting, multiplication and division).
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Occasionally operates a forklift to pull orders and records all code date information.

C. RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION

Interpersonal skills are important in this job. Has contact with Distribution Center employees, outside truck drivers, Quality Control employees. Occasional contact with customers.

D. MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS USED

Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, Air Hose, Steel Toed Shoes.

E. WORKING CONDITIONS

Works inside warehouse, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations. Fumes from forklifts. Some contact with dust, oil, ink, and grease. Hardhat required, except as otherwise stated in work rules.

F. POTENTIAL HAZARDS

Operation of and working around moving machinery (forklifts).

G. Supervisory Functions

Has some supervisory duties at Distribution Center for about six employees.

Visual acuity: required for operating forklift, double-checking loads, checking code dates, etc.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

V. JOB SPECIFICATION

Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed: Requires math and reading skills. ‘Requires good interpersonal skills and extensive knowledge of our warehousing systems.

Education and experience needed. High school graduate or equivalent. 3-12 months related experience preferred.
