Job description

Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

More than half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often, it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

We’re a high-growth fintech company changing the retirement industry. We are backed by a number of investors. This includes funding from Marshall Wace and Baillie Gifford, as well as top investors such as BlackRock , TPG (The Rise Fund) , SoftBank, Glynn Capital , NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and more.

About the role

As a member of the Benefits Processing Team, you will play a key role in managing participant distributions from their 401(k) accounts in a fast-paced and growing environment. Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of participant distributions while helping to refine and improve processes. You will gain in-depth knowledge of 401(k) systems and integrations to ensure distributions are processed correctly and on schedule. Your responsibilities will also include troubleshooting system issues, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize workflows, track trends, and communicate key metrics.

The team regularly analyzes processes, offering insights for improvement and recommending tools or workflow adjustments. They uphold high-quality standards, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, supporting the company’s long-term success and operational goals.

  • Ensure all data is carefully reviewed for accuracy, identifying and escalating discrepancies to maintain accurate and compliant customer accounts.
  • Consistently and promptly process participant distributions, meeting deadlines and ensuring distributions are correctly applied without delays.
  • Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring high-quality, consistent data for reporting and operational purposes.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between teams to quickly resolve customer inquiries, while contributing ideas to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop proficiency in the company's operational processes, becoming a trusted resource for day-to-day support and offering insights for process improvement.
